Slow down. Read poetry.
My hope is this collection allows you to do both.
Sipping Red is now available.
I was spilling a Sipping Red series into the scroll and felt they deserved a binding. The collection is a mix of those poems with works and words both old and new. The more I write the more I understand what is natural to the flow of my poetry are simple observations of everyday living. The curation became a journal of private slice-of-life meditations.
And it turns out I write a lot of poems about coffee. It was almost titled as such. The Sipping Red haiku expressions, though, felt more the anchor and I enjoyed being able to blend them through the sections. I hope it notes well for you, too.
Thank you to my Dearest Love, Melinda Susan, for helping make my debut poetry collection a reality. Books are difficult. Sculpting my raw drafts, dribbles, and scribbles into a lap folded keepsake requires a certain strength and intelligence. And patience. I am thankful every moment for her love and grace.
And thank you, Dear Reader. You bring my simple little book into your day and I heartfully hope it becomes a better day.
Pour yourself something you truly savor...
And slow down. Read poetry.
William
